Understand your camera settings and menus

Confused by all the options in your camera?  Modern cameras are specialized computers with multiple menus.  Getting comfortable with your camera’s features   – and when to use them – is the first step in becoming a confident photographer.

Understand editing to bring out the best in your pictures

After you’ve captured an image, how do you present it for maximum response?  Virtually every digital photograph needs some improvement through editing, to adjust contrast, color balance, straightening, or cropping.  These basic improvements are available through using free or inexpensive software.

Understand impactful photographs

Do your photos have acceptable focus and exposure, but still seem too dull to share?   We will cover guidelines about effective compositions and how a viewer’s eye travels through an image.   Please bring photos for feedback and constructive comments, and we will take photos together for immediate practice.

Understand organizing your photo files

Have lots of digital photos but unable to find what you need?  We will establish an approach that works for you, for storing, organizing and backing up your files.  Don’t lose your creative work -- and your  personal  history—when a  computer drive fails.
